A crown is a tooth replacement that is used to repair a broken-down, decayed or damaged tooth. The crown covers the visible part of the tooth, providing the damaged tooth with the support it needs to continue functioning. Crowns can be placed on top of implants to replace a missing tooth. Dr. Chavez also uses crowns to change the shape, color or length of a tooth.
A dental bridge is a series of connected crowns that replaces one or more missing teeth. A bridge fills the gap left by the missing teeth, and the outer crowns are supported by the natural teeth on either side of the gap. Dr. Chavez uses high-quality materials to create beautiful and natural-looking bridges.
State-of-the-Art 3D Technology
Dr. Chavez uses the 3D CEREC® (CEramic REConstruction) system to create high-quality crowns and bridges—in just one visit. This eliminates the need for temporary restorations and a second visit.
A digital scanner, the CEREC Omnicam®, takes precise digital impressions of your teeth. These images are then fed into the CEREC design unit (right) to design your crown or bridge. An in-office milling machine makes the restoration out of high-grade porcelain, then they are customized for shape, shade and perfect fit, in-house.
Dr. Chavez also uses the ITero® Scanner which captures accurate 3D impressions of patients’ teeth for Invisalign and more extensive treatment planning.

CEREC restorations are milled out of a single block of strong and lifelike porcelain. This makes them less susceptible to cracks and fissures. Dr. Chavez matches the color of the crown or bridge to the color of the adjacent teeth, so that your new teeth look natural and seamlessly blend in. Dr. Chavez will make any adjustments needed to ensure a perfect fit.
